Scottish Boxing Champion Evan Armstrong, Titan of Tarlbolton, Dies at 73

Former Scottish and British featherweight Evan Armstrong, nicknamed ‘The Titan of Tarbolton’, the pride of Ayrshire, Scotland, has died of Alzheimer’s Disease at age 73. Fighting between 1963 and 1974, Armstrong won 39, lost 14, and drew one, with a respectable 30 knockouts. Armstrong held the Scottish Area Bantamweight and Featherweight titles, British Featherweight and Commonwealth British Empire Featherweight titles. Armstrong also challenged for the European Featherweight title.

Armstrong also bred rabbits, and was a noted Scottish artist in his later years.
