Rayco Saunders (23-30) Gets Lucky Technical Draw with Unbeaten DeAndre Ware

Dearborn, Michigan (March 27th, 2017)–  Get really lucky! This is worse than cherry picking. 42 year old light heavy weight journeyman veteran Rayco Saunders, now 23-30-2 with 10 knockouts, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a 56 bout veteran and loser of his last 11 bouts, did something he had not done in three years. He did not lose.

Fighting at the Ford Community Center in Dearborn, Michigan, on March 26, 2017, only nine days after he lost an eight round decision to Jonathan Nelson in Arkansas, Saunders earned a technical draw with 8-0-2 unbeaten prospect DeAndre Ware of Toledo, Ohio.

A horrible accidental clash of heads caused a horrific cash in the middle of the forehead of Saunders. The referee ruled he could not continue for the second round. Under Michigan professional boxing rules, if the bout does not go two full rounds, it is a technical draw. Promoter Eddie Jaafar will have to try for a six round rematch with these two warriors.

Result: Rayco Saunders Technical Draw 1 Deandre Ware, Light Heavyweights (3:00)

Referee Frank Garza

Bout stopped between rounds after round one. Rayco Saunders had sustained a bad cut to center of forehead due to an accidental clash of heads with Ware in round one. Michigan rules bout is officially a Technical Draw, as the bout has less than two rounds completed.
