Tevin Farmer in the NABF Dell, 2300 Arena Peltz Bam DiBella Preview
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (December 1st, 2016)– Philadelphia’s sparkling southpaw prospect Tevin ‘American Idol’ Farmer faces the toughest test in the ‘dell’ of his 28 bout career tomorrow night, Friday, December 2, 2016, as 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, against the most dangerous fighter ever to come out of Kosovo. It’s a test of wits, along with skill, which Farmer will face in the 10 round main event bout of an eight bout card against Dardan Zenunaj for the vacant North American Boxing Federation Super Featherweight championship.
The card is co-promoted by Peltz Promotions, BAM Boxing Promotions, and DiBella Promotions, and features an undercard with a number of today’s top rising prospects.
Farmer, 23-4-1, with five knockouts and a 16 bout winning streak, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Zenunaj, 12-2 with nine knockouts, Pec, Kosovo, both would like the NABF belt and a chance to crack the worldwide World Boxing Council 130 pound top 40 ratings. Farmer is favored by unanimous 10 round decision because he has fought and won 10 times in Pennsylvania, including an eight round decision win over 19 win fighter Oralndo Rizzo at 2300 Arena this past October.
The Farmer versus Zenunaj scrap could get very ugly in the later rounds, especially since Zenunaj needs a knockout to win in Philly Farmer country and will certainly go for it. Jose Salinas decisioned Diaz at Foxwoods over eight rounds this past September, a fighter which Zenunaj’s corner felt he deserved to win. Farmer knocked out Daulis Prescott, a 30 win fighter, in eight rounds in 2015, and defeated Gamaliel Diaz and Ivan Redkach in 10 rounders earlier this year. Farmer versus Zenunaj will be a wild scrap while it lasts.
In a six round heavyweight potluck preliminary to the main event, former USBA Cruiserweight champion Garrett Wilson, 16-11-1 with nine knockouts, Hawley, Pennsylvania, will duke it out in with rugged Lamont Capers, 7-8-2, Hawley, Pennsylvania, Capers decisioned Nick Kisner and Pedro Martinez in his last two bouts. His 7-8 record is deceiving. Wilson should win the hometown spar-a-thon with Capers by unanimous decision. Wilson hits hard and will fight anybody at cruiserweight or heavyweight. The same is also true of journeyman Capers, whose last two wins were in both weight classes. Wilson is the harder puncher of the two, which will put Capers in survival mode.
