
Kermit Cintron Wins Sixth Straight on Sands Bethlehem Card, Closes in on Title Shot

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (December 12, 2016)– Former IBF and WBO World Welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, 37, won his sixth straight bout at Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening, December 9, 2016, and moved closer getting another a world title shot, on a nine bout card co-promoted by GH3 Promotions, King’s Promotions, and Sampson Promotions.
Cintron, 39-5-2 with 30 knockouts, Reading, Pennsylvania, knocked down limited Rosemberg Gomez, 19-6-1 with 15 knockouts, Managua, Nicaragua, with a left hook, who proceeded to grab onto Cintron on his way to the canvas. Both fighters wound up tumbling around on the canvas. Cintron had a brief rest period, and could have been seriously injured. Fortunately, he was not. Instead of a disqualification, the round was allowed to be completed. As it was, the battered Gomez did not answer the bell for the fourth round.
