UFC 206 HAS A NEW MAIN EVENT AS ANTHONY PETTIS TAKES ON MAX HOLLAWAY FOR THE 145LB INTERIM TITLE
Las Vegas, NV (November 26th, 2016)– UFC 206 has a new main event. Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis is set for the interim featherweight title for the December 10th Card. This fight replaces Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson after Cormier had to withdraw with an injury.
Johnson has decided to wait until Cormier is ready to return to the Octagon.
Conor McGregor is most likely to be stripped of his 145lb belt making Jose Aldo once again the UFC champion. Conor will remain the 155lb champion.
Aldo won the interim title in July after defeating Frankie Edgar via unanimous decision at UFC 200.
Holloway (16-3) has won his last nine fights in a row, while Pettis (19-5) recently snapped a three-fight losing streak by winning his featherweight debut against Charles Oliveira in August.
UFC 206 will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
