Kermit Cintron Shall Rise Again! Philly Kings Promotions Preview
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Philadelphia, PA (May 6th, 2016)– Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions presents an exciting eleven bout card of professional boxing on Friday evening, May 6, 2016, at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Super middleweights Christopher Brooker and Antowyan Aikens will fight the eight round main event, with former super welterweight contender Kermit Cintron fighting in the preliminary bout to the main event against Eduardo Flores.
Brooker, 8-1 with five knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is favored by decision to win a technical war with Aikens, 10-1-1 with one knockout, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Aikens lost to Lanell Bellows in Las Vegas in the fifth round this past February. Aikens has never gone past six rounds. Brooker went eight rounds defeating his last two opponents whose record was 19-0. Brooker will try to drag Aikens into the seventh and eighth rounds, where Aikens would be expected to fade.
Super welterweight contender Kermit Cintron, 35-5-2 with 28 knockouts, Houston, Texas, is favored to win by knockout in the middle rounds over opponent Eduardo Flores, 23-20-3 with 15 knockouts, Quito, Ecuador. Look for Cintron to close the show in rounds four or five in the scheduled six rounder, which will not last that long in the preliminary bout to the main event. Flores might swing for broke before the bout ends, making it interesting.
7-0-2 Philadelphia welterweight David Gonzales is favored by six round decision over 9-4 York, Pennsylvania welterweight Samuel Omar Quinones. However, Quinones could have a great technical effort and keep the bout close on the cards, making the bout an exciting match.
12-1 Philly lightweight Naim Nelson is favored by early round knockout over 23-20-2 Nicaraguan trial horse Carlos Velasquez. 4-0 Philly super lightweight Scott Kelleher is favored by third round stoppage over 1-4-1 Allentown journeyman Roberto Ramos.
