Spencer ‘Judge’ Jebb admits he’s ready to play judge, jury and executioner at Friday’s XFFC 9: Conviction at the ENTREC Centre at Evergreen Park.

“Everything is very sharp and technical and my cardio has reached another level,” said the 26 year-old Swan City fighter, of spending the past several months training out of Champion Gym.

Jebb (11-4) is no stranger to XFFC events on home turf. He’s the more experienced local MMA fighter on the event card, having won his last six consecutive bouts at the event after suffering his first loss at the inaugural XFFC event in March 2013.

His last bout was at XFFC 7: Bad Blood in October. Since January, he’s been looking for an opponent and even had a fight lined up in February. That bout ultimately fell through.

“(That) lead me to have to keep up a level of (training) intensity and frequency, which is almost unheard of. It’s one thing to train at that level for 8-9 weeks before a fight but I have kept that pace for close to five months (and) literally working my tail off twice a day,” said Jebb.

Does that mean we’ll be seeing a different Judge Jebb Friday when he faces Kelowna’s Michael Hill?

“You will see the most determined athlete I have ever been. I want this win so badly that it hasn’t left my mind since it was announced. It has taken over my life and I can’t wait to perform and demonstrate my skills,” said Jebb.

Hill (8-4) competed at XFFC 6: The Proving Ground in March 2015 and lost via decision. It’ll be the first time Jebb and Hill go fist-to-first in a professional MMA bout.

XFFC 9: Conviction Card (bouts subject to change)

The heavyweight title bout (265 lbs) features Kalib Starnes (Surrey, 17-10-1) facing Tim Hague (Boyle, Alta, 20-12)

The welterweight title bout ((170lbs) features Matt MacGrath (Charlottetown, 17-8) taking on Jesse Ronson (London, ON, 15-6).

Don’t freak out, but local fighter Sterling Freake (1-0) is making his XFFC return with a 185lb bout against Manitoba’s Junior Halcrow (0-0).
