Sparks Fly! Galeano vs. Lee, Farmer vs. Diaz at BB King Tonight

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

New York, NY (March 30th, 2016)– In the main event of a six bout boxing show promoted by DiBella Entertainment at BB King Blues Club and Grill on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016, southpaw Chris Galeano, 10-0 with one knockout, Bronx, New York, will defend his USA New York State Middleweight title over upset minded Devaun Lee, 6-2 with three knockouts, Jamaica Queens, New York. Lee upset 8-0 Ian Green by six round majority decision in the same ring this past January, and is hungry for the chance to beat Galeano.

Galeano is predicted to retain his New York Middleweight title by 10 round unanimous decision. Galeano won a 10 round decision over 10-0 Shawn Cameron to win the title last November. Lee has never been past six rounds, so it is to Galeano’s advantage to drag the bout into the later rounds.

In the ten round preliminary bout to the main event, Philadelphia super featherweight southpaw Tevin Farmer, 20-4 with five knockouts, will face rough tough former WBC super featherweight champion Gamaliel Diaz, 39-13-3 with 18 knockouts, Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico, for the vacant North American Boxing Federation Super Featherweight title. Farmer is predicted to win by 10 round decision over Diaz, who comes to fight-and won’t go quietly.

Southpaw light heavyweight prospect Travis Peterkin, 15-0-1 with seven knockouts, Brooklyn, New York, is predicted to win by eight round unanimous decision over 9-12 trial horse Larry Pryor, Frederick, Maryland. Pryor won an eight rounder over 15-0 Mark Tucker in 2011. Otherwise, he has lost to 12 undefeated prospect in his career, losing nine decisions and getting stopped three times. Simply put, Pryor is in the house, but cannot win the big fight.

6-0 Russian southpaw middleweight prospect Artur Akavov is favored to win by fourth round stoppage in a scheduled eight rounder over 11-10-1 Todd Manuel of Rayne, Louisiana. Manuel lost five consecutive bouts in 2015, but still managed to win a four rounder in his last outing. After a brief feeling out, Akavov should pick apart Manuel.

Brooklyn southpaw super lightweight Shmuel Pagan, 7-0 with four knockouts, is favored to win by six round decision over 2-7-1 Las Vegas, Nevada trial horse Ryan Picou. In 2014, Picou upset undefeated Mark Gamache in the same ring in 2014. Pagan is a more determined fighter, though. Picou will find Pagan’s relentless head and body attacks are hard to escape from.

Finally, super featherweight contender Cindy Serrano, 23-5 with 10 knockouts, will fight a six round stay busy bout against Hungarian fighter Renata Domsodi, 13-8 with six knockouts. The rounds are two minutes long. Serrano is favored by six round decision.
