Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Nicholas ‘The Axe-Man’ Walters Close To Being Finalized
Los Angeles, CA (February 14, 2016)– Bob Arum confirmed in the FightHype.com video below that Ukrainian featherweight Vasyl Lomachenko will fight the Jamaican Nicholas ‘The Axe-Man’ Walters, with the TV deal being the only detail left to be finalized.
This fight has come relatively out of the blue with not a great deal of speculation and Walters future in the division unclear, after missing the weight in his last title defense and losing his WBA Featherweight belt on the scales. However he now has a shot at regaining a portion of the World Title once again, with Lomachenko’s WBO Featherweight belt on the line.
“I think he’s [Oscar Valdez] waiting first for Lomachenko to go up to 130. Nobody wants to fight Lomachenko, and I don’t blame them,” Arum said to Fighthype. “The fight’s [Lomachenko vs. Walters] made. I’m just looking for a network to televise it.”
