Wilder Fury! David Haye Returns to Fight Mark de Mori

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

British boxing fans are rooting for the heavyweights. First comes Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Next up will be David ‘Haymaker’ Haye, 26-2 with 24 knockouts, London, United Kingdom, who will return to the ring at age 32 after 2 and a half years old to fight Mark De Mori, 30-1-2 with 26 knockouts, from Perth, Australia, now fighting out of Croatia.

The smaller question will be whether or not the long ring layoff will affect Haye. Answer: it won’t. The bigger question will be whether or not Haye will be fighting Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury later in 2016. Answer: show Haye and Fury the money, and the bout will take place.

The riddle behind David Haye is all about challenge. After fighting Wladimir Klitschko, Haye fought Dereck Chisora but was not motivated to fight Klitschko again. Now that Tyson Fury has defeated Klitschko, a mandatory rematch with Klitschko is just an excuse to sell tickets. Haye and Fury are the big bad boys of boxing now. British boxing fans are hungry for action, and thirsty for blood. The bookies have a can’t miss fight if Fury fights Haye, as the pay-per-view will top even Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s best promotion.

Can Haye beat Tyson Fury? For one, Haye needs to be more active to reach the point where he can challenge Tyson Fury and may a fight of it. The world is not holding its breath waiting for David Haye. Tyson Fury may be the one may who is not afraid of David Haye. The fists of Fury will find an even match in Haye, if he truly has something left.

January 16, 2016 at O2 Arena in London will tell the story. For now, everyone is betting on David Haye. If the world title bout is David Haye versus Tyson Fury, the betting might be a different story. One better bout for Haye after he defeats de Mori could be Robert Helenius, ‘The Nordic Nightmare’. Both fighters are at the crossroads, and Fury is in the way. True, Tyson Fury holds the world heavyweight title. However, Haye will have to find a better quality opponent than the unknown de Mori to bring Tyson Fury to the table.
