Jamaica, NY (September 17, 2015)– Felipe Gomez and Kevin O’Sullivan of New Legend Boxing at Lou DiBella Entertainment, will present an exciting ‘International Fight Night’ ten bout card of professional boxing at Resorts World Casino Aqueduct Raceway, Jamaica, New York, on Saturday evening, September 19, 2015, sponsored by Nissan of Queens, featuring the ten round cruiserweight bout between Alex Guerrero and Brian Howard in the main event.
Guerrero, 12-0-1 with six knockouts, Salisbury, Maryland, won the vacant WBA-NABA cruiserweight title in November 2014 with an eighth round technical stoppage of Anthony Ferrante at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Howard, 10-1 with eight knockouts, Atlanta, Georgia, has been inactive since December 2012 when Harvey Jolly knocked him out in the third round at The Grand Ballroom in Norcross, Georgia. Guerrero is favored to win by ten round decision, as Howard has been inactive for three years. Still, you never know. Howard is expected to try to win, so the bout is interesting.
In the scheduled eight round preliminary bout to the main event, 11-0 middleweight prospect Steve Rolls of Toronto, Canada, is favor to win by knockout over less experienced 5-2 Tyiman Edmonds of Meridan, Missouri. In two six rounders; Bronx southpaw middleweight prospect Chris Galeano, 8-0, no knockouts, is favored by six round decision over Colby Courter, 8-6 with seven knockouts, Saint Joseph, Missouri; and Brooklyn lightweight prospect Wesley Ferrer is favored by knockout over 3-5 southpaw Luis Rodriguez of Carolina, Puerto Rico.
