Jr. Middleweight Khiary “Too Sharp” Gray Pitts (8-0-0, 6 Ko’s) from Worcester, Massachusetts is an up and coming star on the CES team. Not only do I remember him back in his amateurs days and fighting in the Golden Gloves, he’s now 22 years old and making a name for himself in the pro division. He started his professional career on June 6, 2014 against On’rey Towns and won by TKO in round 3 at the age of 21. He fights again at a familiar venue on September 18th at Twin River Casino in Rhode Island against Kenton Sippio- Cook (6-2-0, 4 Kos) for the UBF Northeast Jr Middleweight title on a CES card.

Pattee Mak: I saw the fantastic news. It looks like for your 9th bout there’s a belt up for grabs. What does this mean to you?

Gray Pitts: Yes I will be fighting for the vacant UBF northeast title at Jr middleweight. I am honored to be fighting for the title. It is making me more hungry. This title shot has me working more harder than I’ve ever worked in my whole career this far. All I can think about is the title. That title is coming home with me.

Pattee Mak: Great attitude. I love your energy in the sport and the excitement you bring to each of your fights.

Pattee Mak: I never saw Sippo-Cook in action. What do you know if anything about him?

Gray Pitts: I have never seen him in action but I’ve seen small clips of him. He has a chin. He will come to fight. That’s what I want but people will be surprised come September 18th.

Pattee Mak: Khiary, Khiary, Khiary…. All of your 5 fights in 2015 your opponents haven’t gotten past round 1. Some are saying you should be getting more ring work in but hey I always say get in and get out… lol. Your thoughts?

Gray Pitts: My thoughts on the knockouts is I like it cause I can get right back in the ring but I do want rounds in but as I see it I don’t get paid for how long I’m in there or paid by the minute. I do want better opponents but they don’t wanna step in the ring with me, so it’s not my fault. I take what they give me. I take full advantage of it and when my time comes, it will come.

Pattee Mak: You have called out many opponents. Some with the around the same amounts of wins as you or with more experience in the ring. How do you feel when they refuse to fight you for whatever reason?

Gray Pitts: Yes I been calling out Michael Moore (13-1-0, 6 Ko’s), Rich Neves (9-2-2, 4 Ko’s), Fred Jenkins, Jr (9-2-0, 3 Ko’s) and Martez Potter (7-0-0, 1 Ko). They all have turned me down for some reason. I’m a fighter. I fight no matter what. I am calling them out cause I wanna make a name for myself. I’m always up for the challenge. Some people say is cause I’m cocky but it’s not I’m just trying to rise to the top.

Pattee Mak: I have known you for some years now and have never seen your cockiness. Actually I remember you more on the shy side.

Pattee Mak: Sometimes in life blessings don’t always seem like blessings. For your past fights it seems as if you never know whom you are fighting until the last minute. Does this affect the way you are being trained prior to your fights?

Gray Pitts: It kinda does affect me but at the same time it don’t cause I’m still used to it cause of the amateur days cause you never know who your fighting sometimes till you get there.

Pattee Mak: This is so true. Or the opponents will back out leading up to the day of the fight in the amateur division.

Pattee Mak: You are only 22 years old. Where do you eventually see yourself in the coming years?

Gray Pitts: In the coming years I see myself becoming a contender within the next 3-4 years.

Pattee Mak: Tickets for your fight?

Gray Pitts: Yes I am selling tickets. They are $41.00 and can be purchased at my gym, Camp Get Right Boxing, 55 Millbrook Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Pattee Mak: Thanks so much for this interview. I will see you on the 18th and I wish you the best of luck. Follow Gray Pitts on facebook at:
