Middleweight Ian Green Wins Main Event at Empire City Casino Yonkers

Yonkers, NY (July 30th, 2015)– In the main event of a six bout card at Empire City Casino Yonkers Raceway in Yonkers, New York, promoted by Guy DiPietro’s World Class Promotions, on Wednesday evening, July 29, 2015, middleweight Ian Green of Paterson, New Jersey, remained undefeated with a a six round unanimous decision over a game Leikan Byfield of Atlanta, Georgia.
Green, now 6 -0 with four knockouts, had hands full with the taunting style of journeyman Byfield, now 6-10 with one knockout. Green used stinging jabs to the head and body, pinpoint placed, to score points to win rounds. Both fighters were warned for rabbit punching. Both fighters were in top condition. Green had a solid high hands defense, however, and Byfield fought the fight with his hands down. A flash knockdown by Green of Byfield in the fifth round gave Green a 10-8 round. Byfield, who tried to taunt Green into a street fight, held a lot and missed a lot. Green won easily, boxing smartly but carefully.
