Danny Garcia vacates WBC super lightweight title
Philadelphia, PA (June 11th, 2015)– Lucas Matthysse and Viktor Postol will collide for the vacant belt.
WBC super lightweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia has finally abandoned the WBC 140lb world title. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that Lucas Matthysse and Viktor Postol will collide for the vacant belt.
After two-consecutive over-the-weight non-title fights, Garcia most likely will take on Paulie Malignaggi in a non-title welterweight fight on ESPN August 1st at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Garcia is also expected to relinquish the WBA 140lb title, which he also holds.
