The hometown crowd came out to see Josesito Lopez, the Riverside Rocky, do some damage to Andre Berto Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, but an energized Berto sent them home disappointed with a sixth-round knockout.
Berto sent Lopez to the deck earlier in the round with a right, but Lopez climbed up off the mat. It would be a short-lived try at a rally, as Berto connected with another right hand that put Lopez down for good at 1:03 of the sixth.
Lopez started out deftly avoiding Berto’s jab, but a fourth-round flurry in a neutral corner seemed to slow Lopez, as a cut developed under his right eye. The damage proved to be too much, and Berto capitalized two rounds later.

Shawn Porter caught Erick Bone with a big right-hand body shot that stunned the Ecuadorian, opening him up for a right-left-right-left combination, all landing squarely to the head to finish Bone off at 2:30 of the fifth round.
Just prior to the knockout, Porter knocked Bone down and through the ropes with a straight right to the body. Bone got back up, but he was unable to truly recover.
It wasn’t all aggressiveness on Porter’s part: He showed impressive quickness in the ring, ducking under a huge right from Bone in the fourth in a slippery now-you-see-me-now-you-don’t flash.
Shawn Porter knocks down Erick Bonè and ultimately knocks him out in the 5th round of their encounter.

HIGHLIGHTS
- – Chris Arreola came out on fire and scored a knockdown early in the first, but Curtis Harper got back into the fight.
- – Arreola looked re-energized in the seventh round, connecting on multiple stiff rights to Harper’s head, but couldn’t put him down.
- – Arreola connected on a left, right, left, right early in the eighth round and that level of activity may have sealed the deal for Arreola.
- – Arreola took the unanimous decision over Harper.

Two-time heavyweight title challenger Chris Areola used a huge right hand to floor Curtis Harper in the first round, withstood a furious rally by his opponent, and pushed the paced over the last two rounds for a unanimous decision at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in the Spike TV debut of Premier Boxing Champions.
