Peltz Heavyweight Joey Dawejko Seeks Sixth Straight Win On Philly Arena Card

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Correspondent

Philadephia, PA (March 4th, 2015)– Russell Peltz Boxing Promotions, Joe Hand Promotions, and Brittany Rogers Bam Boxing present an exciting seven bout card of boxing at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday evening, March 6, 2015, featuring Philadelphia heavyweight prospect Joey Dawejko and New Jersey super featherweight Jason Sosa in the co-main event eight round bouts, streamed on Comcast SportsNet and Gofightlive.com on a delayed basis.

Dawejko, now 13-3-2 with six knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a 14 time National Amateur champion, will look for his sixth straight win against 9-2 Enobong Umohette. Also known as ‘The Nigerian Gentleman’, Umohette has recorded eight knockouts in his nine wins, and has beaten every opponent he has faced except for losing a decision in his professional debut. Umohette’s last two opponents have a combined 47 wins, so Dawejko should be put to the test again. Considering Dawejko’s last four bouts have ended by first round knockout, Dawejko should knock out Umohette in four rounds or less.

Super featherweight prospect Jason Sosa, 13-1-3 with nine knockouts, Camden, New Jersey, is predicted to win by fifth round stoppage over interim WBA Fedelatin champion Bergman Aguilar, 12-1-1 with four knockouts, Escazu, Costa Rica. Aguilar’s padded record in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua includes a split decision loss to an 0-6 fighter.

In preliminary bouts, 17-9-1 lightweight Victor Vasquez of Philadelphia is predicted to win by six round decision 5-8-1 Puerto Rican trial horse Jose Guzman, who is attempted a comeback after five years inactivity. Rising 4-0 super welterweight prospect Jeff Lentz, coming off a split decision six round win over Tim Witherspoon Jr., is predicted to win a six round decision over 9-1 Fred Jenkins Jr. of Philadelphia. Jenkins is short, and has trouble getting into range with taller fighters. If Jenkins manages to get inside on Lentz, the fight could be much closer. The game plan could determine the outcome. Southpaw 5-0 super lightweight prospect Keenan Smith of Philadelphia is predicted to win by knockout in three rounds or less over 1-5-1 Malik Jackson of Newark, New Jersey. 1-1 southpaw super lightweight Jerome Conquest of Philadelphia is predicted to win by four round decision over debuting Kevin Garcia. Debuting Philadelphia southpaw super middleweight Lamont McLaughlin is predicted to win by four round decision over 0-1 Alshamar Johnson.

At 2300 Arena, doors open at 6 P.M., first bout 7 P.M. on Friday evening, March 6, 2015. Advance ticket sales are $75, $50 and $35 and are available online at Wanatix.com.
