ROY JONES GOING FOR HIS 5TH CONSECUTIVE WIN IN RUSSIA

Moscow, Russia (September 4th, 2014)–Roy Jones Jr. will look to win his fifth-consecutive bout against Hany Atiyo on Sept. 26 at Basket-Hall in Krasnodar, Russia.

The four-division champion confirmed the pairing in an ESPN.com report on Tuesday. The 12-round cruiserweight fight will be the second tilt the future 45-year-old hall of famer has been apart of in as many months.

Jones Jr. has won four straight bouts since dropping three in a row to Danny Green, Bernard Hopkins and Denis Lebedev between 2009 and 2011. With an all-time record of 58-8 (41 KO), Jones Jr. has held world titles at heavyweight, light heavyweight, super middleweight and middleweight.

Atiyo, 30, is looking to bounce back from a knockout loss to Joey Vegas in June of 2013. “The Egyptian Hurricane” has spent his career in the light heavyweight division and holds a mark of 14-2, with 10 knockouts.

The hope for Jones Jr. is to eventually earn a title shot against Krzysztof Wlodarczyk of Poland.

“I want a shot at Wlodarczyk and then I’m done. After I knock him out, I’m done. If I lost that would definitely be it, but I ain’t gonna lose. Even if I won the title, I might walk away, but you know if I win the title I’ll get some good offers, so I would consider them,” Jones told ESPN.com “I know Wlodarczyk is fighting in Moscow and I will be there. It’s about a 2½-hour flight and I am going there after my fight. I’ve had my eye on Wlodarczyk for some time. He has said he wanted to fight me. Let’s do it.”
