Las Vegas, NV (August 20, 2014)– Former 2 time Bellator champion, Eddie Alvarez will be fighting Donald Cerrone at UFC 178. This announcement was made 12 hours after he was released by Bellator.
UFC 178 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Alvarez, 30, (25-3) enters having defeated 10 of his previous 11 opponents, eight of which he finished via stoppage.
Cerrone, 31, (24-6, 1 NC) is currently the No. 4 ranked lightweight on the UFC’s roster. Cerrone has been on fire and has had 4 straight wins in the past 10 months.
