UFC 176 HAS BEEN CANCELLED
The UFC announced today that they would be cancelling UFC 176.
Kevin Iole reported in his article on the UFC 176 cancellation that UFC officials considered putting UFC women’s champion Ronda Rousey in the August 2 main event. However, Rousey suffered a hand injury in her 16 second win at UFC 175 over Alexis Davis. Rousey is projected to return to the Octagon in either December 2014 or in January 2015.
Last week, Jose Aldo pulled out of UFC 176 due to shoulder and spine injury he suffered in training.
The rematch between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes will be rescheduled at a later date. Jose Aldo won the first fight by TKO. Since the last fight, Mendes has won 5 fights in a row with 4 knockouts.
