Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing invite all media to a press conference at the Croke Park in Dublin at midday for 12.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday July 30) as we welcome in a new era for boxing in the city on Sky Sports at the National Stadium on August 30.
Matthew Macklin headlines the show in his first appearance in Dublin since December 2009, and the three-time World Middleweight title challenger aims to take a giant step on the path to achieving his World title dream as he meets WBC International champion Jorge Sebastien Heiland in an official eliminator for the WBC title and the Argentine’s belt.
Promoter Eddie Hearn brings a star-studded cast of fighters to Dublin for Matchroom Boxing’s first show it the city, with Olympic gold medal hero Anthony Joshua MBE facing another step up in opponent as he faces Yaroslav Zavorotnyi, the Ukrainian who took David Price ten rounds in June, while bitter rivals Spike O’Sullivan and Anthony Fitzgerald meeting in the ring in what promises to be a fiery encounter.
