Reading Rumble II Card Features Frank De Alba in UBF Regional Title Bout

Reading, PA (June 21, 2014)– Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions will present an exciting six bout card of professional boxing at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening, June 28, 2014. Reading Puerto Rican southpaw super featherweight contender Frank Santos De Alba will fight Pablo Batres for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation All American Super Featherweight title in the eight round main event.
De Alba, now 12-1-2 with four knockouts, will square off against Batres, 7-9-1 with two knockouts, Sonora, Mexico, in what promises to be a mix it up banger bout local Pennsylvania fight fans will love. Batres is coming off a 12 round win over Saul Hermosillo for the Mexican Mundo Hispano Featherweight championship, and also scored recent knockout wins in Mexico over Jorge Lares and Roberto Resendiz. With his 17 bouts of experience, Batres, who has gone the 10 and 12 round distance, could create problems forDe Alba.
De Alba is unbeaten in his last 12 bouts, but only went eight rounds in his most recent wins over Chazz McDowell and Israel Suarez. De Alba was lucky to win a hard fought eight round split decision over Suarez, a 4-3-2 fighter. De Alba is predicted to win by eight round decision in a bout which could turn on two or three rounds or a few knockdowns. De Alba will be tested, and it is to Kauffman’s credit he is willing to risk his prospect against an established 12 round fighter. The tempo will be fast, and De Alba will have to put rounds in the bank right away to win the bout on points.
Five bouts of four rounds will precede the main event. Pat Kehoe faces Danny Lugo in a welterweight bout. Rolando Chinea of Lancaster faces Robert Ramos in a lightweight bout. Allentown’s Christian Molina faces debuting Jordan Morales in a light welterweight bout. Philadelphia’s Antonio Dubose faces Benjamin Burgos in a four rounder. Miguel Martinez of Reading faces Gilberto Sanchez in a light middleweight bout. In all, six different weight classes will be represented on Kauffman’s card.
An exciting amateur card will precede the pro bouts. Pennsylvania amateurs scheduled to be featured include Brooks Shilling, Kayla Hracho, Julius Torres, and Kaleah Vasquez.
