Cage Fury Fighting Championships heavyweight champion, Zu “Zulu” Anyanwu (6-2), will defend his title for the first time against Keith “Bad News” Bell (4-4) at CFFC 37 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, P.A. on June 28.

Anyanwu won the vacant heavyweight belt by defeating Joe Stripling via first round TKO at CFFC 32. Anyanwu won his shot at the title by defeating Paul Holt via decision at CFFC 29. By defeating Holt, Anyanwu snapped a two fight skid. One of those losses came from Keith Bell. Bell won the bout by knocking out Anyanwu in just 12 seconds of the opening round. “Bad News” is currently coming off a submission defeat to Blagoi Ivanov at Bellator 109. The defeat snapped a two fight win streak for the North Carolina native. Bell has only fought once inside the CFFC cage, which was a TKO lost to Shelton Graves at CFFC 18.

In other action, Brick Township’s Ricky Bandejas meets Chris Piriz at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 37.

Catone MMA Bandejas made his professional debut at CFFC 35 where he submitted Dwayne Holman Jr. via first round guillotine choke. Although it was just a single bout, Bandejas showed lots of promise for a bright future.

Bandejas had a successful amateur career, collecting a record of (7-1). Bandejas’ only defeat came from a submission lost to fellow CFFC fighter, Shane Burgos, who is now (4-0) as a professional. Since the defeat, Bandejas has been on a tear, winning his next three bouts by submission. During that streak he also earned a title at Dead Serious 7 by defeating Joshua Armstrong.

Piriz is undefeated with both of his victories inside the CFFC cage. Piriz earned a unanimous decision over Aaron Bicking and a submission victory over Daniel Carbonel. As an amateur, Piriz went (7-4), earning one title in the process. Piriz earned a unanimous decision over Nathan Jaime at Operation Octagon XX.

Showdown Fights, the top MMA organization in Utah, presents another night of exciting fights with “SHOWDOWN FIGHTS 14” on June 28 on GFL.tv. The premier event is highlighted by a Heavyweight Title fight and all of the action comes to you live from the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah. Utah MMA has flown under the radar for over a decade, but Showdown Fights has proven to be in a class of its own for MMA in the Mountain West.

In the main event, with the Showdown Heavyweight Title on the line, Jan Jorgensen (5-0) battles Salvador Sanchez (8-0) to crown in inaugural heavyweight champion. Jorgensen has proven to be almost unstoppable in his MMA career, coming over from a successful run as a football player. Jorgensen has only been to the third round once as he has finished 4 opponents inside of two. Jorgensen is one of the most athletic big men in the sport and his speed and natural ability make him a formidable opponent for almost anyone. Look for Jorgensen to come out swinging from the opening bell. Sanchez is almost a mirror of Jorgensen, as he too starts fast and all but one of his fights have ended in a TKO. Sanchez has also shown off an iron chin and an ability to absorb punishment without flinching. Both Jorgensen and Sanchez hail from Utah so the crowd will be split which will only add to the intensity of the fight. Don’t blink because now that gold is on the line, both men will be looking to become champion in spectacular fashion.

In a featherweight bout, Clay Collard (12-4) fights Nick Compton (9-3). Collard is the former Showdown Fights Lightweight Champion but dropped down to featherweight in his last fight so he can fight at his natural weight. Collard is an awesome wrestler and has vicious ground and pound and is relentless in the cage. Look for Collard to push the pace early against Compton. Compton is a grizzled vet from the West who has made a name for himself in the area as a grappling specialist. Compton has won his last 3 fights, two by submission and will look to put Collard in trouble if the fight hits the mat. Look for Compton to try and execute triangle chokes and armbars from the bottom if Collard gets an early takedown.

In a women’s bantamweight bout, DeAnna Bennett (3-0) takes on TUF vet Colleen Schneider (5-3). Bennett remains undefeated with 2 first round TKOs. She will have the power advantage in the cage. Schneider will have the experience advantage and is more battle tested. Expect these two fierce competitors to give the fans a shootout.

Showdown Fights is back with “SHOWDOWN FIGHTS 14”. Watch all of the top fighters from the West compete in the premier proving ground in the region. Order now!For full fight card and more details about this event, visit gfl.tv or click here

Sparta Combat League – Summer Brawl
Sun Jun 29 2:00PM ET

Click here to watch this event on GoFightLive!

Sparta Combat League returns June 29 on GFL with “SummerBrawl”, a stacked MMA card from the Grizzly Rose in Denver, Colorado. This event promises to be full speed from bell to bell as these pros and amateurs will do battle in the cage.

For the SCL Featherweight Title, Ben Lugo (6-3) takes on Jordan Titoni (3-0). Lugo only has 2 decisions in his 9 fight career and that is because he always goes full speed ahead. Lugo is a strong wrestler and will look for takedown after takedown and go to work on the ground with strikes and submission attempts. What makes Lugo so dangerous is his ability to get stronger as the fight goes on. Titoni makes his debut in SCL and looks to make an immediate impact on the division. Titoni is a well-rounded fighter and can beat opponents in a variety of ways but his most feared offence is his submissions. Titoni also has top level cardio and prefers to push his opponent to exhaustion and secure a decisive, one-side victory.

The heavyweights tangle for gold as Erick Kapp (1-2) fights Champion Steve Paprocki (3-1). Kapp is a strong grappler and can mix up his punches well so he has been able to keep his opponents off balance. Paprocki is a well-rounded heavyweight who can end a fight with his fists or on the ground with some solid grappling. Paprocki is on a 3-fight win streak and looks to build on that momentum with another victory over the dangerous Kapp and grow his legend in the Rockies. The winner of this bout will lay claim to being the top heavyweight in the area.

In other action, Adam Taufmann (0-0) fights Adam Hayes (0-1) in a welterweight scrap. Look for Taufmann to come out red-hot and throwing punches with very bad intentions. Hayes has a strong submission game and might look to press Taufmann in the early going.

Donald Pierce (0-0) battles Art Petrosyan (1-1) in a middleweight scrap. Pierce brings KO power into the cage with both hands and has earned a reputation in the area as someone with an iron chin. That will be on display on June 29. Petrosyan’s only loss is via split decision and that was highly questionable. Petrosyan is a grappling wizard and will look to take Pierce down to the mat and keep him there.

Sparta Combat League is sure to bring down the house once again as they have quickly grabbed a chokehold on Mountain West MMA and this show will continue in that tradition. Order “SummerBrawl”, and watch live and anytime afterwards on video on demand only on GFL.For full fight card and more details about this event, visit gfl.tv or click here

Ring of Combat and Dead Serious MMA partner to present “MMA Battles” on June 28 on GFL.tv from Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey. This event has another stacked lineup, something Ring of Combat and Dead Serious MMA has become synonymous with, as this time the amateurs are showcased on this 15+ mega card. ROC and Dead Serious Fighting Championship continue to be the linchpin of East Coast MMA and this card reiterates that dominance in the Tri-State area.

In the main event, Andrew Dabkowski (1-0) battles Michael Denora (1-0). Dabkowski proved his submission skills in his first fight as he submitted his opponent in just over a minute with a rear naked choke in the first round. Look for Dabkowski to try and get the fight to the ground and attack the neck of Denora if it presents itself. Denora is a grinder and uses strong wrestling to outlast his opponents. He will look to push the pace and will welcome a fight on the ground where he will look to use his top control to score points with punches.

In the co-main event, Javier Colon (1-0) takes on Kenneth Ward (1-0). Colon is a well-rounded rising prospect who mixes up his attacks well. Colon has strong leg kicks and combos that make his takedown attempts even that much more dangerous. Ward is a durable featherweight who possesses and granite chin and hands of stone. Look for Ward to make this fight a brawl and get Colon into a boxing slugfest.

In other action, Kyle Lynch (1-0) fights George Maldarelli (0-0). Lynch is a crafty grappler and utilizes a variety of different setups for his submission attempts. Lynch is strong in side control and can catch his opponents in arm locks and kimura from that spot due to technique and sheer strength. Maldarelli makes his amateur debut and is sort of an unknown coming into the bout. Look for Maldarelli to come out swinging and try to earn the respect of Lynch in the opening seconds.

You won’t find a more thrilling card then this one. Be sure to catch all of the action as Ring of Combat and Dead Serious present “MMA Battles” exclusively on pay-per-view at GFL.tv.For full fight card and more details about this event, visit gfl.tv or click here
