Tito Bracero versus Dmitriy Salita Aviator Arena Fight Card Preview
By Robert Brizel, Head RCM Boxing Correspondent
Brooklyn, NY (October 12th, 2013)–Gabriel Tito Bracero has been around the block and then some. The Tommy Gallagher trained Brooklyn welterweight is a phenomenal technical boxer, but lacks the knockout punch. This will give his fellow Brooklynite Dmitriy Salita some counter punching opportunities in their main event ten round bout at Aviator Arena in Brooklyn on November 9, 2013. Salita, now being trained by Sugar Hill, does not pack the knockout punch Adonis Stevenson does, another Hill student and current light heavyweight world champion.
Salita will give a great accounting of himself for ten rounds, and for sure he will hold when he has to. Still, Tito Bracero should win most if not all of the rounds in their ten rounder. Bracero is still an ‘A’ fighter. The major question about this bout is the catch weight. Bracero is at 140, Salita is at 154. Even at a catch weight of 150 pounds, Salita does not gain extra power by going down, and Bracero does not lose his strength by entering the ring at his walking weight.
Bracero is unlikely to get knocked down by the light punching Salita. If Sugar Hill has truly worked hard with Salita, then Salita could win three or four rounds. Bracero is at his best down the stretch in rounds seven through 10. Prediction: Bracero Win 10 in a relatively quiet affair.
The undercard will feature a slate of Lou DiBella fighters who currently lack an opponent. All DiBella fighters are favored to win, including: Canadian welterweight Ionut Dan Ion; light middleweight Charlie Ota; female super bantamweight Heather Hardy; light middleweights Patrick Day and Chris Galeano; lightweight Louis Cruz; light welterweight Shemuel Pagan; and the professional debut of super middleweight Junior Younan.
Tickets are $125, $85, $65 and $45. For ticket purchasing and information contact DiBella Entertainment at 212-947-2577.
