Chisora used good body work to seize the initiative from the third round on the scorecards, but Scott was fighting back and was in the house. The fifth round was close, and Scott might have been ahead in the bout going into the fateful sixth round. The bout suddenly ended on a bizarre strange note. With 15 seconds left in the sixth round, Chisora dropped Scott along the ropes with a right hand over the top to the back on the head. Scott seemed to go down more so because he had lost his balance, but did not seem to be seriously hurt. Scott took the count smiling on one knee, and rose as the count reached nine, beating the count while perhaps misinterpreting where the count was. However referee Phil Edwards waved his arms at ‘nine’ to end the contest, stating “Out” and Scott did not protest. The British considered Scott to be counted out and credited Chisora with a knockout. The ringside commentators joined in the controversy, calling the count ‘nine and a half’ and ‘nine and a bit’ but Scott clearly got up as the count reached nine. Chisora, from London, England, United Kingdom, is now 17-4, with 11 knockouts. Scott, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, falls to 35-1-1, 12 knockouts.
