Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal Comments on Upcoming
Opponent TUF 15 Winner Mike Chiesa

(Miami, FL)- Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal (24-7) agreed to replace Reza Madidi against he Ultimate Fighter 15 Winner Mike Chiesa (9-0) as the main event of the FX undercard for UFC on Fox 8 next Saturday, July 27, 2013. Masvidal is coming off a unanimous decision win over Tim Means during his UFC debut in April.
“When I got the call to step in and fight Chiesa, I was like ‘Hell Yeah,’” said Masvidal. “Tell Dana I said thanks for the early Christmas present.”
Chiesa who won TUF 15 in 2012 is walking into the fight with an undefeated record. Known mainly for his wrestling, he also has a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; however, Masvidal will likely be his toughest competition yet. “Really, are you F’n kidding me,” said Masvidal. “I think he’s a fraud and I’m going to prove it. Under his crazy hair and beard he is a scared little boy and I’m going expose this ‘little theatre teacher’ to the world.”
Known as one of the best technical strikers in MMA at 155 pounds, Masvidal is also very hard to take down and has improved his ground game tremendously over the past two years. “This was a no brainer for me,” indicated Masvidal. “Chiesa is not even on the same level. He’s going to war with a paintball gun and I’m carrying and AR-15.”
A Cuban American from Miami, FL, Masvidal got his start as a street fighter under Kimbo Slice garnering millions of views on YouTube for his backyard fights. Since then Masvidal has had an impressive professional career going 5-1 in Strikeforce and 1-0 in the UFC with almost half of his wins ending by KO or submission. “I plan on finishing this fight,” said Masvidal. “There will be nothing left of Chiesa by the time I am done with him.”
Masvidal trains at the world renowned American Top Team under head coach Ricardo Liborio and is represented by ML Management.
