MARK HUNT VS. JUNIOR DOS SANTOS AT UFC 160
Las Vegas, Nevada ( March 9th, 2013) The UFC decided to change it’s mind about the Alistair Overeem fight and announced that Junior Dos Santos (15-2) will be facing Mark Hunt (9-7)at UFC 160, scheduled for May 25th in Las Vegas.
Alistair Overeem pulled out of the fight due to a quadriceps injury. Overeem plans to return in July.
Mark Hunt is coming of an impressive knockout performance against Stephan Struve at UFC Fuel 8, where he fractured Struve’s jaw. Hunt, 38, has also won 4 in a row.
Junior Dos Santos is coming a 5 round unanimous decision loss to Cain Velasquez at UFC at UFC 155.
Hunt told mmafighting.com, the opportunity “my title shot.” Hunt, who denied ever directly turning down the opportunity, was pleased with the outcome of the call, as was White. He would not discuss the conversation he had with Dana White.
The main event for UFC 160 is Cain Velasquez vs Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva 2.
