“We are going to arrive to Los Angeles this Thursday. If on that day Floyd does not signed our agreement for September, we are not going to fight on the evening of May 4th, and then we will determine if we’ll fight on April 20th or the week that follows the May 4th date. I don’t know why we’re being put in this position. Two years ago they wanted to make this the fight, but I was not ready. Today we want the fight and they are not agreeing. I do not understand. All I want is a big opponent, because 2013 will be my year. We want to continue with our plan to have the big fights that the public wants,” Canelo said.
Canelo’s manager Chepo Reynoso said Thursday is the deadline for Maywether to sign or he would change the fight to April 20 or May 11 in either Mexico or possibly Texas.
