ANTHONY PETTIS VS. JOSE ALDO ON AUGUST 3RD

Roselle Park, NJ (February 6th, 2013)– Another super fight at Featherweight was confirmed today. Anthony Pettis (14-2) will be dropping from 155lbs. to 145lbs. to fight Jose Aldo (22-1) on August 3rd at TBA.
After UFC 156, when Jose Aldo defeated Frankie Edgar by a close UD, Anthony Pettis sent a text message to Dana White about his interest in fighting Jose Aldo. Anthony Pettis is considered one of the best Kickers in MMA as is Jose Aldo.
Anthony Pettis made quick work of Donald Cerrone of Fox 6 a few weeks ago and finished him with a solid liver kick. This decision by Pettis is suprising because he was the number one contender at 155lb. to fight Ben Henderson. Pettis defeated Henderson a few years ago when they both fought in the WEC.
Today on the MMA Hour show, Anthony Pettis said he would have no problem making the new weight class and follows a clean diet all year. He said he easily makes 155lbs and would still like to fight Ben Henderson if he defeated Jose Aldo.
I give the edge to Jose Aldo in this fight. I feel he will be able to avoid Anthony Pettis high flying Taekwondo kicks and will put some damage to Anthony’s front leg. Aldo should be able to neutralize Anthony’s athletics with his powerful leg kicks as the fight goes on. However, Anthony has some of the best moves in MMA and can use kicks and knees off the cage that can end a fight at any time. He has put together some amazing highlight reels in his mma career. This is a great and exciting fight for UFC fans to look forward to. My pick is Aldo by UD.
