BRAZILIAN WILL FACE JUANMA LOPEZ IN HIS RETURN ON FEBRUARY 2, IN BAYAMON, PUERTO RICO

Brazilian Aldimar Silva Santos will be the rival of former two time world champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez in his return to the ring on February 2, 2013, at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation to be broadcasted on DIRECTV Pay Per View.

“Silva Santos will face Juanma Lopez on February 2. This will be a good return fight for Juanma after his biggest absence of the ring. We are going to see how Juanma look after almost   11 months without a fight”, Peter Rivera, PRBBP Vice-President, said. “Juanma is training hard because he wants to win a world championship again”.

Silva Santos (18-3, 9 KOs) fought last December 29, 2012, winning a six rounds decision over Rodolfo Franz in Brazil.

Juanma Lopez (31-2, 28 KOs), a former WBO superbantamweight and featherweight champion, will fight for the first time since March 10, 2012, when he lost by TKO against Orlando Salido, being suspended for one year by the Puerto Rico Boxing Comission for a bad comment against the referee Roberto Ramirez Sr. after the bout. Puerto Rico Secretary of Sports and Recreation, Henry Neumann, pardoned Lopez in October.

The Lopez-Silva Santos bout is scheduled to 10 rounds in 128 pounds. Actually, Lopez is ranked #5 by the WBO in the featherweight division.

Contenders Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez (21-0, 16 KOs), the #1 WBO ranked in the lightweights, McWilliams Arroyo (13-1, 11 KOs), the #6 WBO ranked in the flyweights, McJoe Arroyo (11-0, 6 KOs), the #9 WBO ranked in the superflyweights, and Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs), the #12 WBO ranked in the flyweights, will fight for regional titles against foes to be named soon.
