Froch V Kessler rematch is on!

Hull, UK (15th January, 2013) – After several twists and turns in the negotiations for this fight, we can finally rest assured that we will see Froch V Kessler battle it out in the ring this year. Not only have Matchroom promotions managed to lure Kessler in to the fight, they are bringing the Viking warrior over to the 02 Arena in London on May 25th. Only a week or so ago it looked as if IBF Champion Carl Froch (30-2) was set to take a mandatory defence of his title against Adonis Stevenson (19-1). Although the Stevenson fight would have been a good test for Froch, the rematch with Mikkel Kessler is the fight we all want to see. The first fight was a fight of the year contender, and I think we are in for much of the same once again.
Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch was Real Combat Media UK’s fighter of the year for 2012, he stole that accolade with a devastating victory over the highly regarded Lucian Bute, a fight which not many people expected him to win. Since his fight with Mikkel Kessler, the majority of boxing fans believe we have seen improvements in The Cobra’s game, improvements that could gave Mikkel Kessler nightmares. Unfortunately for Carl, The Viking Warrior didn’t waste much time asserting himself in 2012 either, with two solid KO victories over Allan Green and Brian Magee. Both fighters had a great 2012, and it makes sense to see them back in the ring together this year. Both fighters will be ready for war, but who will come out on top? Will Kessler be able to make a dent in Froch? The only answer for these questions will come on May 25th in the 02 Arena.
Matchroom Promotions and Sauerland Promotions have joined together to create the first big fight of 2013. The unification fight could lead way for a rematch with Andre Ward, as both fighters lost to the California fighter in the Super Six Tournament.
