Demetrius Andrade VS Freddy Hernandez Recap

Huntington, NY (January 26,2013)– On Shobox’s Main event, Demetrius Andrade left an impressive and flashy performance in dominating Freddy Hernandez over 10 rounds at the Paramount Theatre In Huntington, New York
All three judges at ringside had all scorecards reading 100-89. Demetrius improves to (19-0 (13KOs), while Hernandez has his third loss in his last four fights as he falls to 30-4 (20KOs).
This was the first time Demetrius fought under new well- known trainer Virgil Hunter, who also works with super middleweight champion Andre Ward. Demetrius came in strong in his southpaw style, landing massive hooks to Hernandez body and face. Andrade took control of the fight early and finished strong.
With the victory easily in Andrade’s favor, the bout’s only knockdown was scored in the sixth round, when Andrade floored Hernandez with a counter overhand right. The knockdown had the crowd on their feet. Following the knockdown, the fifth round left the mark, as Andrade’s best round of the night.
Unfortunately, Andrade could not finish Hernandez off, but was able to hurt him in the eighth round and again in the tenth.
This was Andrade’s first bout in Shobox and under new trainer Virgil Hunter, the stage was set for what is yet to come. The performance left the crowd pleased and anxiously wondering what else can we expect from this dynamic duo.
Also on the co- main event ,Taylor improves to 16-1 (11KOs) with his win over Serrano who falls to 18-2 (8KOs).
