Anthony “Rumble” Johnson vs. Esteves “Quiet Riot” Jones

August 24, Titan Fighting Championship: Kansas City, Kansas.

In just a few short days Titan Fighting Championship will be putting on their 24th installment at Memorial Hall in Kansas City.  That show is headlined by the infamous weight cutting aficionado Anthony “Rumble” Johnson as he fights outside the UFC for the second time in 12 fights against up-and-comer Esteves Jones.  This also marks a new chapter in Johnson’s career as he has finally decided to forgo the debacle of missing weight to fight at Light Heavyweight for the first time.  Esteves “Quiet Riot” Jones comes in sporting an 8-3 record against mediocre talent and is looking to make a name for himself in this big step up in competition.  It is pretty evident here that Titan FC is looking to brand “Rumble” to their organization by allowing him to ease into his new weight class with less than stellar competition.  This should be a walk through for the aggressive and powerful Johnson as he steps away with a first round TKO.

Braulio Estima vs. Chris “The Hammer” Holland

August 24, Titan Fighting Championship: Kansas City, Kansas.

On the same card, co-headlining just below “Rumble” Johnson is the debut of Jiu Jitsu Ace Braulio Estima.  Braulio is easily one of the most decorated BJJ practitioners on earth, winning multiple titles in every organization possible, including the prestigious Abu Dhabi Combat Club where he secured the 2009 Absolute Division Gold Medal in Barcelona.  He holds notable BJJ and No-Gi wins over the likes of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Vinny Magalheas and Xande Ribeiro; however, this is his Professional MMA debut.  As such a hot commodity, it is easy to understand why Titan FC would match him against a 5-3 fighter coming out of Factory X Muay Thai gym in Denver.  If he is able to secure the takedown without suffering any serious damage, a quick submission win will put this fight in the books and Braulio will walk away with his first professional victory as a complete MMA fighter.

Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia vs. Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski

August 31, One Fighting Championship: Manila, Philippines.

It’s time to clock in for a fourth installment of what was at one point the most marquee match-up in the heavyweight division.  Remember back in 2005, Arlovski (17-9) was one of the most formidable heavyweights in the UFC and MMA?  He tore the heavyweight title from Tim Sylvia (31-7) in the first round of their inaugural fight with a strong overhand right followed by a text book Achilles lock.  A little over a year later, Tim Sylvia had won two rematches over “The Pit Bull” and took the UFC Heavyweight title belt with him, subsequently losing it to Randy Couture after a lack luster defense against Jeff “The Snowman” Monson.  Fast forward to today and both big men are on the outside looking in.  Sylvia is currently sporting a 3 fight win streak against questionable opposition while Arlovski has two victories paving his way into the One FC cage.  Although their careers have been turbulent at times, both men are deserving of the main event slot and have fought their way to the Philippines to prove that they are far from washed up.

Jens “Little Evil” Pulver vs. Eric “The Natural” Kelly (photo above)

August 31, One Fighting Championship: Manila, Philippines.

Do not fall on the anti-Little Evil band wagon and think that Jens Pulver has nothing left in the gas tank.  He has fought steadily and consistently since leaving the UFC back in 2007 although with mixed results, going 5-8 during that time with two losses to uber tough Urijah Faber.  If you have not heard of Eric Kelly, you need to do some homework.  “The Natural” is an undefeated prospect out of the Philippines looking to gain international recognition with a notable victory.  Currently at 7-0 with 6 submission victories and fighting in his home country, Kelly has a great opportunity to build his brand on the back of a seasoned professional.  Keep your eyes peeled during this fight, these featherweights will be fast and furious and you do not want to miss the action.

Attila Vegh vs. Travis Wiuff

August 24, Bellator Fighting Championship: Tunica Resorts, MS.

Here is a great Light Heavyweight match up with two extremely seasoned pros looking to solidify their place amongst one of the largest non-UFC organizations in the United States.  Attila “Pumukli” Vegh is coming into this fight with a 27-4-2 record and riding a 7 fight win streak.  Travis Wiuff, the perennial contender, is one of the most experienced professionals fighting in the cage today.  Amassing a record of 68-14 and coming in on a 6 fight win streak, Wiuff has fought for almost every MMA organization on the planet defeating notable fighters such as Matt Horwich, former UFC Heavy Weight Champion Ricco Rodriguez, Kazuyuki Fujita and Jeff Monson.  This fight looks to be a strategic battle of skills with both men possessing knock out power and submission prowess.  The real question is who will make the first mistake?
