Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto 2 is a possibility in NYC in December
By: Anthony L. Gonzalez
According to Fightnews, there is a possibility that there will be a rematch of Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto at the the Madison Garden in New York, New York.
MSG has already booked December 1st as the day for the possible rematch. Last fight did very well and sold 1.5 million PPV buys. It was a very exciting bout that Floyd was able to win via unanimous decision over Cotto. But, Cotto showed plenty of heart and was able to win at least 4 rounds. Cotto lost most of the rounds by a very close margin.
Cotto turned down an offer to fight Saul Canelo Alvarez in September which makes this fight a stronger possibility. Floyd is currently in jail on a domestic violence charge and will be released at the end of this Summer or sooner. That will give Floyd plenty of time to train for the rematch.
Cotto is undefeated at the Garden and has won 7 fights in NY. The rematch has the potential to out sell the first fight because NY has the highest Puerto Rican population in the US. He is a huge fan favorite in NY.
Many boxing fans are excited about the possibility of a rematch.
