Floyd Mayweather may never fight again according to his lawyers
LAS VEGAS — Attorneys for Floyd Mayweather Jr. say that he may never fight again if he’s not released from the Las Vegas jail he entered on June 1st.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Mayweather’s lawyers filed an emergency motion Monday asking that he serve the rest of his three-month sentence under house arrest.
His attorney Richard Wright says Mayweather’s health is deteriorating by being confined to his cell 23 hours a day and is restricted from working out. He is being kept from the general inmate population because of his celebrity status.
The motion states the boxer’s doctor believes the conditions could do irreversible damage to Mayweather’s physique. There are reports that he is not allowed to drink bottled water.
Floyd Mayweather is coming off a unanimous decision last month over Miguel Cotto in a classic fight on May 5th . Floyd plans to fight in November.
Real Combat Media wishes Mr. Mayweather the best of health during these difficult times.
