Peterson/Khan 2 is called off!
The rematch between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson that was scheduled to take place on May 19 has officially been canceled. Peterson tested positive for testosterone pellets on a drug test conducted by VADA(World Anti Doping Agency) in March. The Nevada State Athletic Commission were not planning on licensing Peterson. This is what Amir Khan had to say via Twitter: “The fight is off! sorry everyone the only person to blame is @kingpete26 I’ll be looking for an opponent to fight June 30th” A possible opponent is current IBF Lightweight champion Miguel “Titere” Vazquez. Peterson admitted thru an attorney that he took testosterone prior to his first fight against Khan as well. Representatives of Khan are stating their case that the first meeting between Khan and Peterson should be overturned to a no-contest ruling.
