WBA World lightweight champion Brandon Rios (29-0-1, 22 KO’s) is facing former IBF/WBA featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboas (21-0, 16 KO’s) next on April 14th at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight will be televised on HBO Boxing.Rios and Gamboa will be fighting at 135lb, a weight Rios could not make when he defeated John Murray last December. Many feel Rios will be have a large weight advantage over Gamboa the night that they will fight. As much as a 15lb to 20lb weight advantage is possible .

Gamboa feels he will not be the underdog the night of the event and feels he is stronger at junior middleweight than at Super Featherweight.  Gamboa won both of his fights last year, by beating Jorje Solis and Daniel Ponce DeLeon in March, and in September.Gamboa deserves a lot of credit for stepping two weight classes to battle a Rios, who is also a undefeated fighter. This should be a very exciting and action packed fight to look forward to.
