50 Cent Fighters Knocking Everybody Out, Worthy of Better Opposition

By Robert Brizel, Head RCM Boxing Correspondent

To witness the latest boxing card at Resorts World Casino at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York, on December 20, 2013, boxing promoter 50 Cent and his SMS Promotions must be doing something right. It was not all the main event either.

Amir Imam scored a first round knockout over Sergio Perez at 53 seconds of the first round, fought for the North American Boxing Association Light Welterweight title.

Light welterweight prospect Joel Diaz Jr. knocked out Tony Walker at 2:27 of the first round. Walker somehow managed to beat the count the first time, but not the second time.

Lightweight prospect Ryan ‘Blue Chip’ Martin scored a devastating first round knockout of Las Vegas fighter Eric Goodall at 1:22 of the first round. The press photograph of Martin celebrating the victory with the unconscious Goodall on the canvas in the background is a true classic.

Light middleweight prospect Emmanuel DeJesus knocked down and finished Antonio-Fernandez Chavez at 2:59 of the fourth round. Chavez beat the count, but was out of it.

Lightweight prospect Donte Strayhorn knocked down Sam Moura in the third round, then continued administering Moura a vicious beating till the bout was finally stopped at 1:34 of the fourth round.

One fight on the card involved a fighter not signed by 50 Cent. Unknown Nate Green, 4-0, knocked down 16-1 Thomas Snow twice and gave him a violent pounding for all six rounds to win a unanimous six round decision. Hungry and impressively trained, Green scored a win against the odds in the hopes 50 Cent would sign him. Judging by Green’s serious incredible performance against Snow, 50 Cent just might sign him. If not, surely another promoter will sign Green very shortly. Green is hungry-the best type of fighter to sign.

It would be nice to get James ‘Mandingo’ Kirkland onto one of the New York City cards with trainer Ann Wolfe sometime in 2014. Mandingo, who attended the boxing card to accept a CompuBox power punching award in the 154 pound weight class from 50 cent, is popular wherever he goes. His recent six round destruction of 20-0 Glen Tapia included a record 73 power punches landed in round 4, A CompuBox record at 154 pounds.
