James Mandingo Kirkland Honored With Special CompuBox Power Shot Award

James ‘Mandingo’ Kirkland was honored by boxing promoter 50 Cent of SMS Promotions for setting a 154 pound division CompuBox statistical record with 73 power shots landed on 20-0 Glen Tapia in the fourth round of their bout at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on December 7, 2013. Kirkland’s presence was the highlight of 50 Cent and SMS Promotions during a six bout card at Resorts World Casino on December 21, 2013.
Kirkland took the time after exiting the ring to pose with this reporter for Real Combat Media and display his award. Kirkland has a good chance of receiving a world title shot at 154 pounds sometime in 2014, given his recent victories inside the distance over Tapia, Carlos Molina and Alfredo Angulo after returning to his original trainer Ann Wolfe.
