UFC FOX 3 NEW JERSEY

The UFC returns to the local Real Combat Media area at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ for the free FOX 3 event. This Fox 3 event is going to be a stacked card from top to bottom on this Cinco de Mayo holiday. This card will feature 4 free key division changing fights and is a card that is designed to please the fans.
Rousimar Palhares (23-3) is going up against Alan Belcher (16-5) for a middleweight showdown. Belcher, age 28, is a well rounded fighter who has a lot of experience. Belcher is on a recent 3 fight winning streak. In his most recent fight he defeated Jason MacDonald by submission last September. Belcher holds notable victories over Dennis Kang, Patrick Kote and Ed Herman.
Rousimar Palhares, age 32 is a Black Belt Brazilian Jujitsu expert. Rousimar is extremely dangerous on the ground.He has a great build and has an abundance of physical strength. His last loss was a TKO loss against Nate Marquardt in 2010. He has a 3 fight winning streak going into Saturday night. Rousimar’s noteable victories include wins against Mike Massenzio, David Branch, Jeremy Horn and Dan Miller. The winner of this fight will definitely be considered a top contender for the UFC Middleweight title.
Josh Koschek(19-5) will be a taking on Johny Hendricks (12-1) in this pivotal welterweight matchup. Johny Hendricks, age 28 is a fast rising star who has great wrestling skills and serious knockout power. Johny knocked out one of the top UFC fighters, Jon Fitch, in just 12 seconds ! Jonny has 7 kos in his career . A win tonight would put Hendricks in contention for a number one contender shot at the UFC Welterweight title.
Josh Koschek, age 34 is one of the most expereinced and toughest fighters in the UFC. Josh came up short twice of winning a UFC Title. He has lost twice to GSP. Josh is a similar fighter to Hendricks, who has great wrestling skills and a powerful right hand. Koschek has notable victories over Paul Daley, Anthony Johnson and most recently Matt Hughes in late 2011.
The main event of the night will feature Nate Diaz (15-7) vs. Jim Miller (21-3). Both fighters are on a hot streak right now. Nate is coming off the best performance of his career against Donald Cerone. Nate was able to out box Donald for the entire bout. Nate, age 27 also is a black belt in Brazilian Jujitsu and trains with Cesar Gracie in California. Nate is the brother of top middleweight contender Nick Diaz. Nate Diaz also features great cardio and has a solid chin. Nate also defeated Japanese legend, Takanori Gomi in September 2011 at UFC 135.
Jim Miller, age 28 is a fighter who many consider him to be in the top 5 of the lightweight division. Jim features solid all around skills. He has very good wrestling and jujitsu skills. Jim also has a tremendous heart and was able to come back from a powerful Melvin Guillard’s knee attacks in his last fight. He was seriously hurt against Guillard, but was able to pull off a rear naked choke in the first round. Jim Miller has notable victories against Melvin Guillard, Charles Oliveira, Duane Ludwig and Mark Bocek. The winner of Miller vs. Diaz will probably fight for the UFC Lightweight title at the end of this year.
The other Fox bout will feature Heavyweights. The popular Pat Barry (7-4, 4-4 UFC) is going up against Lavar Johnson (16-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
