UFC 332 Recap: Natalia Silva Beats Wang Cong to Win Flyweight Title on Record Knockout Night
By Real Combat Media MMA Editorial Staff
Salt Lake City, Utah, (October 3rd, 2026)–Natalia Silva is the new UFC women’s flyweight champion, outpointing Wang Cong by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 332 at the Delta Center on a night that rewrote the record book for finishes. The card produced 11 stoppages in 14 fights, nine of them in the first round, both UFC single-card records, as Payton Talbott stopped Deiveson Figueiredo, Roman Kopylov upset Ateba Gautier and a run of prospects turned the undercard into a highlight reel.
Main Event Breakdown: Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong
Silva (21-5-1) used speed, footwork and a steady diet of kicks to take control early and become the fourth woman to hold the UFC women’s flyweight title, claiming the belt Valentina Shevchenko vacated with an injury. She dropped Wang (10-2) and mixed in takedowns along the way, then had to survive a late scare when a Wang left hook stunned her in the fifth round. The judges scored it 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46, all for Silva, who extends her winning streak to 15 and joins flyweight champion Joshua Van as the only UFC champions under 30. The crowd booed at times as the fight settled in after the nonstop knockouts that came before it.
Silva said afterward that she wants to be an active champion and defend the belt often. Shevchenko congratulated her on social media, but warned that she is coming back for the title once she recovers.
Co-Main Event Breakdown: Payton Talbott vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
Talbott (12-1) made the biggest statement of his young career, stopping the former two-time flyweight champion in the first round. A straight right dropped Figueiredo early, and when the Brazilian tried to tie him up, Talbott shrugged him off and followed with an elbow along the fence and a body kick. Another right hand folded Figueiredo and referee Jason Herzog stepped in at 2:09. It is Talbott’s third straight win and his second former champion in a row after Henry Cejudo. He called for a fight with Sean O’Malley to decide the next bantamweight title challenger. Figueiredo falls to 25-8-1.
Main Card Highlights
Esteban Ribovics def. King Green: Ribovics (17-3) put Green on the canvas three times in the first round and earned the TKO at 4:08, ending Green’s four-fight win streak. Ribovics missed weight on Friday at 156.5 pounds but showed no signs of being compromised, though the miss made him ineligible for a bonus.
Roberto Soldić def. Khaos Williams: Soldić won his UFC debut by unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-28) after close to 600 days away from MMA. Williams tagged him in the first round, and Soldić leaned on his wrestling to settle in before making Williams miss through the final two rounds.
Roman Kopylov def. Ateba Gautier: The biggest upset of the night opened the main card. Kopylov (16-5), a two-to-one underdog, stayed patient while Gautier overextended, then dropped the touted middleweight prospect with a one-two and finished him with ground strikes at 3:12 of the first round. Gautier falls to 11-2. Kopylov said through an interpreter afterward that he felt like he was dreaming.
Undercard Highlights
Imanol Rodriguez def. Alden Coria: Rodriguez dropped Coria with a front body kick and finished with punches at 3:11 of the first round, then put UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van on notice.
Damian Pinas def. Andrey Pulyaev: One uppercut ended it at 1:15 of the first round, Pinas’ third straight first-round stoppage in the UFC.
Marcus McGhee def. Anthony Romero: Romero stepped in on three days’ notice for Bernardo Sopaj and gave McGhee early problems before a stiff jab dropped him. McGhee finished it at 4:58 of the first round.
Anthony Wint def. Lucas Armand: The former NFL linebacker needed just 23 seconds, the shortest fight of the night, then called out Sean Sharaf and asked for a fight in 40 days.
Johnny Walker def. Mick Parkin: Walker made a successful heavyweight debut, ending it with a clinch knee at 3:35 of the first round.
Jacobe Smith def. Bruce Whitehead: Smith landed an inadvertent knee to the groin, and after a near-three-minute break he slammed Whitehead and finished with ground and pound at 1:32 of the first round.
Alexander Hernandez def. Rafael Dos Anjos: Dos Anjos was the sharper man in the first round, but Hernandez wobbled him just before the horn and finished him with punches at 3:12 of the second. Dos Anjos removed his gloves in the Octagon, a gesture that suggested it was his last fight.
Ismail Naurdiev def. Marvin Vettori: Naurdiev swept the scorecards 29-28 across the board, handing Vettori his fifth straight loss at middleweight.
Eric Nolan def. Court McGee: Nolan spoiled the retirement fight of McGee, who had announced the bout would be his last, with a third-round TKO at 3:26.
