‘RCM MMA Reporter’ ( Founder of the Clinch Report)
Jonathan King, started his lifelong passion for the martial arts in a very traditional way. He was bullied. After growing tired of seeing his youngest son on the wrong end of schoolyard beatings, his father signed him up for Kempo Karate at age 11. Ever since, Jonathan has been involved with the sport. With a pedigree built on wrestling, boxing and karate he began to train in muay thai kickboxing. Studying for a short time under the tutelage of American Top Team instructors in Florida.
As a journalist and fight analyst his early work was featured on MMAJunkie.com There he worked on fighter interviews and recaps for the MMAJunkie radio show. Learning the craft from some of the best fight journalists in the sport. After moving to Los Angeles in early 2009 Jonathan created “The Clinch Report”, which is a comprehensive news source for Mixed Martial Arts, that combines unique content and links to the best news sources in the industry. Known throughout the industry for his fight predictions, Jonathan is also a guest correspondent or MMA expert on several Internet and Terrestrial based radio formats.
In 2012, Jonathan joined the Real Combat Media team and has been selected as the Bellator’s press writer. His recap was the first press release of January’s 2013 Bellator Spike TV debut. He also was the journalist who asked the first question in Bellator Spike TV History at the post press conference.
Jonathan takes pride in being a “fighter first” journalist.
