From 25-0 World Champion to 13 Losses: The No Contest Crash of Chucky Flores

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

He was once 25-0 and the International Boxing Organization’s World Super Bantamweight champion. A bizarre No Contest with Guillermo Rigondeaux, which should have enabled him to retain his title at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on June 17, 2017, wound up costing him his title and derailing his career, which did not recover from the weird title bout outcome.

At the time, Moises ‘Chucky’ Flores of Guadalajara, Mexico, was 25-0 with one No Contest between 2008 and 2017 an established world champion. The second No Contest, with Guillermo Rigondeaux, ended with a punch thrown by Rigondeaux at the bell, referee Vic Drakulich ruled a legal blow. Flores was knocked out, but his corner claimed the Rigondeaux punch landed after the bell. The Nevada State Athletic Commission reversed the bout result on June 26, 2017.

Instead of returning the IBO World title to Flores, the NSAC declared the IBO World title vacant instead. His next attempt to win a world title ended after a 12-round loss, one pound overweight, rendering him ineligible to win the super bantamweight title. Between 2017 and 2025, Flores has gone 1-13-1 with one No Contest, a dramatic fall from grace. A first-round knockout loss on October 19, 2025, at age 38 in Gava, Spain, to unbeaten Colombian super featherweight prospect Cristian Eusse probably ended the career of Flores for good. Final record, 26-13-1 with two No Contests.
