Weapons 9 – Apollon Promotions proudly presents the 21st edition of our Warriors Cup Muaythai Series on Saturday Sept 13th at Rahway Rec Center in New Jersey. Once again the fight card will be stacked with some of the best fighters from North America and Internationally.

The main event will be Rami (The son of Palestine) Ibrahim of Philadelphia PA vs Deividas Danyla of Lithuania for the WBC International Challenge Title at 135lbs. Rami is one of the most experienced and best fighter in America with over 150 fights in Muaythai, Kickboxing, Boxing and recently pro MMA. Deividas is new to the US but his record and skills speak for themselves with almost 80 fights in the K-1 tournaments, Thailand, and all over Europe.

The other pro bouts will be John Nofer of Philly PA vs Amine Ballafrikh of Morocco now living in Maryland. These 2 are both technical fighters who swept through the amateur ranks in their respective divisions and are now lighting up the pro ranks.

The 3rd pro bout we have a very good pro MMA fighter against a traditional Muaythai Nakmuay facing each other. Lester Caslow is a Bellator fighter with 20 plus fights and is known for his striking skills will face a very good traditional stylist in Jordan Taylor from Tennessee.

The amateur undercard will consist of A-class and B-class fighters from many amazing gyms. We have built a solid reputation as a show dedicated to good Match making with emphasis on Respecting the Art of Eight Limbs. This show will continue that practice. Sugar Creek Showdown 22: Reborn – Imes vs Horn

Oklahoma’s #1 MMA promotion returns as Sugar Creek Showdown presents “Reborn” emanating from Hinton, Oklahoma on September 13. MMA fans, this event is scheduled for 20 bouts featuring multiple title fights on a stacked card featuring the top up and combing prospects inside Oklahoma and from surrounding states. SCS is the premier MMA organization in the Sooner State and one of the region’s top cage-fighting promotion’s.

In the main event, for the SCS Pro Light Heavyweight Championship, multi-time UFC veteran and Legend Jermey Horn (90-21-5) battles Midwest Champion and Bellator vet Brian Imes (8-8). Horn is one of the most respected and accomplished fighters in the sport and his time inside the cage fighting against top level fighters is unprecedented. Horn looks to add yet another notch in his belt as he takes on the dangerous Imes with another title at stake. Horn is a grappling master and has won the majority of his fights via submission. Look for Horn to get the fight to the mat and take Imes out of his game. Imes hails from Missouri and brings a solid wrestling and grappling game into the cage. Imes is a fighter that always goes for broke and only 1 of his 16 fights has gone to decision. This fight has all the makings of fight of the night as both men fight with an aggressive style and look for the finish no matter where the fight goes.

In the co-main event, for the SCS Pro Bantamweight Title, Brandon Phillips (3-0) takes on Chris Gutierrez (4-0-1) in a battle of undefeated blue chip prospects. Phillips is a durable 135 lb fighter who has finished all of his opponents inside of the cage. Phillips is looking to make a statement in this battle of undefeated fighters so don’t blink. Gutierrez brings heavy hands and one-punch KO power into the fight. Gutierrez is also a relentless wrestler who will always push the pace and put his opponents on their heels. Look for these two to go toe to toe until somebody falls.

The SCS Pro Female Featherweight Title will be on the line as SCS Champion Latoya Walker (3-0) takes on Bellator veteran Anita Rodriguez (5-4). Walker won the title in late 2013 after a grueling 5-round war and this will be her first title defense. Walker has continued to improve on her all-around game but her strength is her cardio and her punching power. Walker will be looking to throw haymakers early and often. The battle-tested Rodriguez brings a strong grappling game into the cage and will look to close the distance and get the fight down to the mat where she can go for submissions. This fight could very well be won in the later championship rounds as both women have trained for a hellacious fight.

Atlas Fights Championship: AFC4

Mississippi’s #1 MMA promotion returns on GFL on September 13 as AFC presents “Atlas Fighting Championship 4” emanating from the Golden Nugget Casino & Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi. MMA fans, this event is a stacked card featuring the top up and combing prospects from the Gulf Coast. AFC is the premier MMA organization in the Magnolia State and is looking to increase its viewership worldwide now with a broadcasting partnership with GFL.

Scheduled to compete is the always tough Jason Knight (8-1). Knight is on a 4-fight winning streak, all finishes in the first or second round and has upped his game in 2014 winning 3 times and looking to do it again in front of his homebase.

Austin Parker (0-1) is also in action and looks to even his record to .500 with the first win of his career. Parker took a tough decision loss in his debut fight, but has trained tirelessly in the gym to shore up any holes in his game as has vowed to make his fight in the cage action packed from start to finish.

Rance Jones (3-1) from Florida comes back to AFC and is ready to bring his hard hitting style back to Mississippi. Look for Jones to waste no time in throwing haymakers and getting the fireworks started early.

John Brown (9-4) returns to the ring for the first time in two years after coming up just short in a title fight. Look for Brown to shake the ring rust off early by throwing haymakers, something he is famous for having won 7 times by (T)KO.

In the women’s division Vanessa Grimes (2-1) will take center stage. Grimes is the AFC Flyweight champion and will look to defend her title in impressive fashion. Grimes has quick hands and a solid grappling game.

WFC 27

Hard hitting MMA action returns as WFC presents “WFC 27” on September 12 from the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana live on the GFL Combat Sports Network. WFC events are the premier MMA shows in the Southeast as they are the proving grounds for tomorrow’s future stars and established veterans looking to mix it up. This huge card features several up and coming fighters along with a hometown hero who is also a UFC vet.

Christian Fulguim (8-6) battles James Chaney (8-5) in another hotly anticipated showdown. Fulguim is riding a 2-fight win streak and looks to make it 3 in a row against Chaney. Fulguim is a fighter that has never gone the distance and has been involved in several Fight of the Night fights. Look for Fulguim to come out swinging with his chin down. Fulguim has the added pressure of fighting in front of his home base but his fans will be extremely vocal which could help carry him to victory. Like Fulguim, Chaney has never had a fight go the distance and this is because of his relentless fighting style where he takes chances and goes full speed ahead from the opening bell. Look for Chaney to try and get Fulguim into an all-out brawl early in the first round. Chances are slim to none that this fight goes the distance.

Thanh Le (2-1) out of New Orleans takes on Shawn Fitzsimmons (7-8) out of Las Vegas in a lightweight scrap. Le is a powerful striker, and has some of the best kicks in the area. Le brings a solid clinch game into the fight and if he can look up with Fitzsimmons in the center of the cage, you can be Le will be looking to throw knees from that position. Fitzsimmons goes for broke from the opening bell and his high risk-high reward fighting style is sure to be on display on September 12. Fitzsimmons has KO power in both hands and fights out of one of the best gyms in the world, with Fight Syndicate in Las Vegas. Be ready for a shootout when these two start throwing leather.

Also scheduled to compete, UFC veteran Kyle Bradley (20-10) who returns to his hometown and has won 4 of his last 5. Bradley is a fighter that has fought for over 10 years as a pro and has seen and been through everything. Look for Bradley to put on a show in front of his home base.
