James Toney wins Controversial Decision over Kenny Lemos

IGNACIO,Colo – James Toney,44 is a former 12 time world champion, his record reading 75-(45KOS)-8-3 defeated Denver’s Kenny Lemos 12(8KOs)-8- in a unanimous decision at the Sky Ute Casino Event Center in Ignacio, Colorado.
Toney came out viciously into his Friday night fight, out pointing Lemos on the scorecard. The aging ex-former champion still showed tremendous defense, utilizing his famous shoulder roll. Many fans at ringside were unpleased with the performance, yelling and booing at certain times during the fight. The fight was a yawner.
The crowd was pleased when the ring announcer read the score cards all in favor of Kenny Lemos, but a correction was made after the announcement and Toney was named the winner. The Scorecards read 77-75, 77-75, 79-73.
The audience reacted by boo”s and yelling insults at the former Champion.. One of them being Lemos’ brother, resulted in Toney trying to get out of the ring to confront the man, but was held back by security.
“I want to fight anybody who wants to fight. Anybody, any time, anywhere,” Toney said.
