Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Showtime Desert Diamond PPV Preview

Glendale, Arizona (October 28th, 2022)– Showtime Pay-Per-View and Fite TV will host an unusual and unique boxing card at Diamond Desert Arena in Glendale, Arizona, in Saturday evening, October 29, 2022, featuring (5-0, 4Kos) social media star Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul against former UFC champion (36-11) MMA star Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva (3-1 as a boxer) in an eight-round cruiserweight contest. This will be the first boxing event of any kind to be held at the Diamond Desert arena, formerly known as the Glendale Arena, Gila River Arena, and Jobing.com Arena.

Paul is the early betting line favorite in this weird contest of social media epic proportions. Paul is 25 years old, while Silva is 47 years old. While Paul versus Silva is the main event of the evening, the Showtime Pay-per-View main card features four other bouts.

7-0 super featherweight prospect Ashton Sylve of Long Beach, California, will face 20-4 Braulio Rodriguez of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in an eight-rounder. 1-1 light heavyweight Chris Avila of Stockton, California, will face debuting Dr. Mikhail Varshavski of Staten Island, New York in a four-rounder. Light heavyweights Former NFL Star, LeVeon Bell of Columbus, Ohio, and former UFC Fighter, Uriah Hall of Henderson, Nevada, will fight a four-rounder in their pro debuts. Super lightweights Alejandro Santiago and Antonio Nieves have been added to the card in a four-rounder.

In the Showtime streaming prelims, world ranked 10-0 female super middleweight Shadasia Green of Paterson, New Jersey, will face 30-4-1 Ogleidis Suarez, Caracas, Venezuela in a scheduled eight-rounder, two-minute rounds. 6-0 heavyweight Jeremiah Milton of Las Vegas, Nevada will face 5-0 Quintin Sumpter of Pittsfield, Massachusetts in a six-round battle of unbeatens. Local 10-0 southpaw super bantamweight prospect Danny Barrios Flores of Glendale, Arizona, will face 8-3-2 Edgar Ortiz Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona in a six-rounder. A four-round bout between super welterweights Eliezer Silva and Anthony Hannah, and a four-round super bantamweight bout between Adrian Rodriguez and Dominique Griffin, are listed on BoxRec but are not in the prefight press releases.

The Pay-Per-View Showtime portion of the card will start at 9 P.M. on Saturday evening, October 29, 2022. Eastern Standard Time, while Paul versus Silva will start at 11:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. The stated Pay-Per-View price for Paul versus Silva is $59.99.
