Boxing Dominion! Hard Hitting Promotions Presents Seven Bout Card at Fillmore Philly

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Philadelphia, PA (July 22, 2022)– Boxing Dominion! On Saturday night, July 23, 2022, Manny Rivera’s Hard Hitting Promotions will present an exciting and action packed seven bout card of professional boxing at Fillmore Philly, featuring two dynamic co-main event eight round bouts with super featherweight prospects Avery Sparrow, William “The Silent Assassin” Foster III, Christian Tapia, and Fernando Romero.

Foster, 14-0 with nine knockouts, New Haven, Connecticut, will face off against Philadelphia’s Avery Sparrow, the IBA World and Pennsylvania State Super Featherweight champion in a nontitle bout. Sparrow, coming off a tenth round titular stoppage win of Matt Conway in January 2022 at Pittsburgh Shrine Center, will attempt to put a dent in the record of “The Silent Assassin”. This bout figures to be an explosive toe to toe thriller which is predicted to end in a late round knockout or stoppage, one way or the other. Foster, who previously decisioned unbeaten Donald Smith (10-0) and Edwin De Los Santos (13-0) and knocked out Pablo Hernandez in the first round in Newark, New Jersey in his three most recent bouts, is not likely to be looking for a win by decision in Philadelphia, where Sparrow has won all five of his bouts which have gone to decision, including a 10 round majority decision over world ranked contender Hank Lundy. At lightweight.

Sparrow is likely to front far more power at the lower super featherweight weight limit. This bout is a spectacular matchup and promises to be a thriller. Foster has two choices: one, to try to decision Sparrow and chance the bout to the scorecards; or to throw caution to the wind and fight a slugfest and go head hunting for the knockout. Sparrow proved in the Conway tenth round stoppage win he is a mature fighter, and his entire career now rests on the outcome of this crossroads bout.

In the other co-main event, Christian Tapia, 14-0 with 12 knockouts, Coamo, Puerto Rico, will face Mexican knockout artist Fernando Romero Hilario, 11-0, 10 knockouts, Puebla, Mexico. Tapia, in the mold of the late great Johnny Tapia (no relation), stopped 11-0 Ironman Alvarez in the tenth round at Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City in December 2021, after knocking out 36 win contender Mason Menard in the second round at Showboat in August 2021. Romero has knocked out nine consecutive opponents, eight of them in four rounds or less, including unbeaten Ivan Salazar (win KO 2) so his trip to Philadelphia is not a social call. This bout, in the tradition of George Foreman versus Ron Lyle, will be an offensive war slugfest which will end in a ten count knockout win for Tapia within the first six rounds, and a number of brutal knockdowns in both directions are expected before the bout war reaches its ultimate conclusion.

On the undercard, Nelson “Chino’ Perez, a lightweight prospect from Marlboro, Massachusetts, by way of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, 5-0 with four knockouts, is predicted to fight to a six round majority draw with Jan Carlos Rivera, 5-1 with four knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by way of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Rivera is a hot and cold fighter, with a six round decision win, a six round decision loss, and a no contest in his last three bouts, and stoppage wins in his four bouts before that. Rivera could surprise and win this bout by decision, which could ultimately turn into a decision war going to the fighter who wants it more.

Also featured on the card will be 13-1 Philadelphia southpaw lightweight Jeremy Cuevas in a six rounder against Nicolas Pablo Damario, 3-0 lightweight Carlos Rosario of Winter Haven, Florida in a four rounder against Jonuel Hernandez Ramoas, 5-1 welterweight Dezmond Lucas on Bronx, New York, in a four rounder against Daniel Sostre of Puerto Rico, and the debut of Philadelphia super lightweight Juan Davila against 1-1 Juan Maldonado Garcia of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, in a four rounder.
