Sampson Boxing Friday Box & Roll! Three WBC Latino Title Bouts in Panama

Panama City, Panama (January 15th, 2022)– In the hometown of “Hands of Stone”, Roberto Duran, from the Vasco Nunez De Balboa Convention Center at Hotel De Panama, Bella Vista, Panama City, Panama, Sampson Boxing presented “Box & Roll!” This was an exciting live five bout card of pro boxing on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Three World Boxing Council Silver Latino titular bouts were featured on the five-bout card. Cuban heavyweight prospect Yunier Menendez of Panama City, Panama, by way of Havana, Cuba, went to 3-0 with three knockouts, with a second-round stoppage at 2:45 of the second of 1-4 David Bejarano of Managua, Nicaragua, Bejarano’s fourth straight loss.
In the second bout, Carlos Suarez, now 9-2 with seven knockouts, Monteria, Columbia, scored a minor upset when he stopped previously undefeated 9-0 Ernesto Marin of Colon City, Panama, at 1:12 of the sixth round. Marin falls to 9-1 with seven knockouts.
Gabriella “Sweet Poison” Fundora, now 5-0 with two knockouts, Coachella, California, won the vacant World Boxing Council Silver Female Latino Flyweight title with an eight round unanimous decision over Nataly Delgado, now 9-5-1 with three knockouts, Santiago de Veraguas, Panama. Fundora knocked down Delgado in the fifth round. Scoring was 80-71, 80-71, 80-71 across the board for Fundora.
In the preliminary bout to the main event, lightweight prospect Jaime Arboleta, 18-2 with 14 knockouts, Miami, Florida, by way of Curundu, Panama, came off the canvas twice in the second round to survive, and scored a 10 round majority decision over Nicolas Polanco, 20-2-1 with 11 knockouts, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and win the vacant World Boxing Council Silver Latino Flyweight title. Scoring was 95-93 for Arbuleta, while the third judge had it 94-94 a draw.
In the main event, undefeated lightweight prospect Hugo Alberto Roldan, 21-0-1 with seven knockouts, La Banda, Santiago de Estero, Argentina, came off the canvas in rounds two and four, and won a 10 round decision and the vacant World Boxing Council Super Lightweight Silver Latino title over German del Castillo, now 10-2-2 with seven knockouts, Barranquilla, Colombia.
