CONOR MCGREGOR SAYS TERENCE CRAWFORD TURNED DOWN A 200 MILLION 2 FIGHT CROSSOVER DEAL
New York, NY (June 18th, 2026)– Conor McGregor asserted that boxing icon Terence “Bud” Crawford declined a lucrative $200 million two-fight crossover agreement to face him. McGregor disclosed this information during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. The suggested deal, facilitated by Saudi boxing mogul Turki Alalshikh, was to include an MMA fight in the UFC Octagon first, followed by a conventional boxing match in the ring.
McGregor stated that he reached out to Crawford directly to propose the high-profile doubleheader. However, Crawford outright rejected the offer, expressing a lack of interest in competing under mixed-martial-arts rules.
McGregor voiced his astonishment, considering Crawford’s significant wrestling experience, and questioned why a fighter would not want to challenge themselves outside of a “protected bubble.” He even humorously suggested that they might have to wait for Crawford’s son to gain the “courage” to take on such a challenge.
McGregor quoted Crawford as saying, “I don’t want to be kicked by you, no way,” and “I don’t fancy taking a kick from Conor McGregor.”
Crawford verified the exchange during a live stream, stating he told McGregor, “Hell naw, I’m not getting in no f*ing octagon with you so you can be kicking me and elbowing me.” He clarified that legacy matters more than money.
This revelation came to light after a social media spat between the two fighters. Crawford ridiculed former UFC champion Ilia Topuria following his loss to Justin Gaethje at the UFC White House card. In response, McGregor staunchly defended Topuria, labeling Crawford as “pitiful” and “afraid” to compete in MMA, despite his wrestling knowledge.
McGregor is currently preparing for his highly anticipated UFC return against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11, 2026, at the T-Mobile Arena. Crawford remains retired from professional boxing after finishing his historic career undefeated at 42-0
