Davenport, Iowa (April 30th, 2020)– Former International Boxing Federation World Middleweight champion and World Boxing Association Super Middleweight champion Michael Nunn, 57, who was released from prison in April 2019 after serving 17 years in prison for drug trafficking with cocaine, is seeking to make a kickboxing comeback against a Mixed Martial Arts fighter after more than 18 years out of the ring, as soon as the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus Pandemic ends.
Nunn is planning to fight MMA commentator, promoter, and UFC Hall of Fame fighter Pat ‘The Croatian Sensation’ Miletich, age 52, whose MMA professional record stands at 29-7-2 with seven knockouts, Bettendorf, Iowa, according to Sherdog online, whose last MMA bout was in 2008, a knockout win over Thomas Denny at Adrenaline MMA 2 in Moline, Illinois.
The middleweight southpaw Nunn, once trained by Angelo Dundee and managed by Dan Goosen, 58-4 with 38 knockouts, Davenport, Iowa, wants to move forward as an MMA fighter. Nunn taught inmates physical conditioning and nutrition. In an August 2019 interview with the Quad City Times in Davenport, Nunn stated “Going to prison teaches you (taught me) what you want to do, and what you don’t want to do. I think it’s (my time there) going to make me a better person as far as being a good dad, a good man in the community, and just a genuine person. I want to utilize my (fighting) skills in a productive way. I’ve taken responsibility for everything I’ve done. I don’t shift the blame. I went to jail and I’ve done my time. Now I’m back and I’m going to keep moving forward.”
