Indonesian Upset in Russia! Yordan Kayos Malikov, Wins WBA 135 Pound Title Shot

How about that! Former International Boxing Organization World Featherweight and World Lightweight champion ‘Daud ‘Cino’ Yordan scored the Indonesian upset of the century and won a World Boxing Association elimination bout for a WBA 135 pound world lightweight title shot with a shocking eighth round knockout of 13-0 Russian contender Pavel Malikov of Lyubertsy, Russia, who was world ranked by the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO.

Yordan, 38-3 with 26 knockouts, Sukadana, Indonesia rose to the number ten worldwide BoxRec position with the win on the internet. A monster right hook to the ribs, followed by a left-hand bomb from Yardan sent Melikov to the canvas where he was counted out at 1:54. Eighth consecutive win for Yordan, age 30, returning to the ring after 13 months of inactivity. Yordan threw power shot bombs this entire bout, and survived a cut over his right eye.
